In November we held our most successful Empty Bowel Dinner yet, raising over $4000 for Oxfam, Heifer INternational
and local food missions. Feeding the hungry in this economy was clearly important to all.
Our on going projects for the
year included the continued canned food drive for FISH, the winter coat drive which collected 67 coats and the mitten tree which collected
70 items.
Our mission committee prepared and served 5 meals at the Loaves and Fishes this year.
This past year our mission
committee got a little smaller due to loss of members. However this year we are hoping to expand the committee membership again
to help carry out all the rewarding projects that measn so much to our church family. We are happy to report that Mary Miller
will be joining our group. While we have a loss of a member, Mary Massey, she has graciously agreed to keep on managing the
Loaves and Fishes dinners for the upcoming year. We are very grateful for her service. We would like to thank the church
family for all the constant support, both with your time and the generous donations. It is clear that we truly know the meaning
of sacrifice, just as our Lord has taught.
Respectfully submitted by Amy Cassone for the Mission Committee:
